I was doing an ankle strengthening drill at dance practice. Ironically, my ankle went sideways to the ground. I bounced like I was on a trampoline and fell straight on my butt. After shaking it off, I was practicing turns in seconds and my ankle did it again. Now, I have a sprained ankle...
I tried to show the rookies that you have to work through your pain. So, I was doing a tor jete ( look it up if you don't know ). It is very simple. I overdid it of course. 😑 I tried to leap higher than I usually do... When I landed, my back started burning. I strained my serratus posterior ( lower back muscle that moves your leg backwards). Now, I can't dance all week. I couldn't lift any residents at the nursing home i'm volunteering at. That made tasks impossible to handle.
I come home and my little brother is talking to his mom on the phone. She was my step mom for fifteen years. *I'm eighteen* She hasn't been my step mom for three years. She told me, and only me, that she may have ovarian cancer... She is going to see a specialist soon to be sure, but she has no insurance.... If that test comes out positive, she can't afford surgery... She may not be my step mom anymore, but this woman raised me. She was a better mom to me than my birth mother. I love this woman. I hope that test comes back negative. I don't have the heart the strength to lose my mom.

My Recruiter
So, my recruiter was planning on finally meeting with me. He had to go over the usual requirement questions. Nothing had changed since the last time we talked about it. This time he told me that i was overweight for my height. I don't know why he didn't tell me before that I needed to start losing weight. I would've spent more time working on losing it rather staying dormant and consistent with everything. That was over a month ago. Now, I have been trying to lose ten pounds. I have a not so accurate scale in my room which makes this process difficult to handle. I stepped on this morning and i read it as around 130. My brother told me not to look down and he read it as 124. Last thing I told my recruiter was 135.8 from the doctor's office. If what my brother read was accurate, then I have lost enough weight to play it safe. I hope I meet all the requirements next time he calls. I can't wait to enlist.
Also, I made a 60 out of 100 on my ASVAB. I am going to retake it this coming school year. I am sure I will do better.

MIlitary
So, i'm planning on joining the military soon! I've taken my ASVAB test and i'm waiting for the results. I want to be a family physician... I hope my scores reflect my goal. I studied the mechanical and electronic section more than anything else and I am hoping I knew my science well enough... Anyways, I've also been working out lately because two months of sitting on my butt doing nothing was not a good idea. I want to go into the Air Force specifically. I want to go to the Air Force Academy... In order to do that I need to get in shape. At one point I was highly interested in being a marine... but my best friend that I am forcing to join with me said heck no. Also I am lazy as it is! Why try to reach a goal I know I can probably never achieve! I already have a recruiter but I can't go to his office yet because it's only the first semester of my junior year of high school... I'm so impatient though...
So, I am not sure what my complete layout is. I am either staying in long enough to get six years of college or staying in, like my dad, until they kick me out... I literally cry when I think about getting my uniform, getting my name tag, being called an airman, getting announced at my high school's veteran's day ceremony, and being a great example for my offspring! I want to be the person a little girl looks up to. I pray for the day I hear them say, "Daddy I don't want to be a princess! I want to be a soldier!". That's how I was when my dad brought me on his army base. I saw all the women there and wished to be apart of them. They all called me an army brat and I replied with a thank you and went on with my day. There's no better feeling than having someone look up to you. When I joined my high school's dance team, all the little girls said, "Screw cheer-leading! I'm going to be a Golden Girl!". I just hope they never give up on their dreams and make the right decisions. Maybe one day, when they find their passion, they'll feel the same way...
